I loved the simplicity and the taste of it so much though that I started making big batches of it so I had some for myself too.
I keep it simple with just roasted peanuts and sometimes a tad bit of oil. For myself, I almost always end up putting a nice big spoonful of honey in there as well. I love me some honey peanut butter!
It’s really as simple as that. Place your roasted peanuts in a food processor and process until they get creamy.
It takes a while in the processor to get to the consistency of peanut butter. So be patient. Mine typically takes a good 10-15 minutes.
I also stop the processor every few minutes to scrap the sides, let the processor cool, and add a touch of oil or honey if necessary.
After a bit, your peanuts will be butter! It’s really that simple.
Have you made any homemade nut butters before??
What kind of oil do you use for dog peanut butter or is raw honey better?
I make mine with a little conola oil or honey depending on how smooth you want it for my dog he loves it:/I keep in refrigerator because it has no preservatives don’t want it to spoil/I use like sprinkles on his sweet potatoes hardens up in fridge
What kind of oil do you use? Peanut oil? Wanna make this for my pups.
Happened on your site looking for dog ice cream recipes. Grabbed a jar of roasted unsalted peanuts at Walmart ($1.50). I will never buy peanut butter again! My husband loves it! I like the simplicity and lack of artificial ingredients. Thanks! Now for doggy ice cream.
YAY!! So glad to hear that you liked it! This reminds me that I’ve been meaning to re-make this to re-photograph it :)
I make almond butter a lot, mostly because I haven’t been able to find organic roasted peanuts that I like. I’m super picky, lol. I used to buy organic peanut butter in a jar but then they had a huge recall and now I’m over it. -.-
Ya know, I’ve still not tried making almond butter but it’s been on my list of things to try for a while now. I buy raw organic peanuts and sometimes roast them myself.
I love homemade goodies, so I am definitely going to have to make this.

I’ve been eating a lot of roasted peanuts lately and was JUST wondering how hard it would be to make your own peanut butter! Sadly, I don’t have a food processor, but I will keep this in mind for the future!
I have been wanting to make this but wasn’t quite sure how. Thanks for sharing!
Umm yums–pbutter is totally my favorite guilty pleasure :) Love that this one is all natural and you know what ingredients go into it! I am going to try it!
