This Spritz drink is the last of the classic cocktails that I’m sharing for cocktail week but it’s easily one of my favorites! Despite my Italian heritage, I’m relatively new to the aperitif which is a pre-dinner cocktail meant to stimulate the appetite. Truthfully, I find myself drinking this before, during AND after dinner on many nights :D
Aperol Spritz is a type of aperitif made up 3 simple ingredients: Prosecco, Aperol, and a splash of sparkling soda/ water.
There are several different ways to make this cocktail but today we’re going to stick with the most basic and classic way!
How to make an aperol spritz:
Next to the White Russian recipe that I shared yesterday, this is the easiest cocktail on my blog! It’s a simple matter of stirring together these 3 ingredients:
- Aperol (this can be found at most liquor stores)
- Prosecco (this is most traditional but another sparkling white wine could work)
- Sparkling water/ soda water (I often use an orange flavored sparkling water)
Directly in your wine glass, mix together the 3 ingredients, add ice, and ENJOY! SUPER simple and I love it for that. It makes it a great cocktail to throw together quickly and drink while you’re making dinner.
How many calories in an Aperol Spritz:
This seems to be one of the most commonly asked questions so I figured that I would address it. I have a nutritional label down below in the recipe card but I’ll break it down briefly here:
While the water/ soda in this cocktail has zero calories, the prosecco has roughly 65 calories and the aperol has about 135 for a total of 200 calories per cocktail. The overall taste is light and refreshing but the aperol does have a decent bit of sugar in it so I wouldn’t consider this a low calorie drink.

Classic Aperol Spritz
Ingredients
- 3 oz Prosecco, or other sparkling white wine
- 2 oz Aperol*
- Good splash, about 1 ounce of sparkling water or soda water
- orange wheels for garnish*
- ice
Instructions
- In a glass, mix together all of the ingredients and ENJOY!
This definitely does not have 2g of carbs, where is that info from? Prosecco by itself has around 1g.
Love this! Where did you get those glasses, I’m in love!
aren’t they cute!? I just recently bought them from crate and barrel!
